Description, clothing, jewerly and more : A white dress shirt, gray pants, black boots and a gold nugget ring.
Distinguishing characteristics, birthmarks, tattoos : Hispanic male. Black hair, black eyes. Barela's nickname is Tony. He has a tattoo on his upper right arm of an eagle similar to the eagle on the Mexican flag, cupped by a half-wreath of leaves with the words "Mi Vida" underneath.





Information on the case from local sources, may or may not be correct : Barela was last seen at his home in Chino, California at 1:00 a.m. January 11, 2001. He left home, possibly to go to Long Beach or Compton, California, and never returned. He has never been heard from again. On March 13, two and a half months later, his car was found abandoned in Los Angeles, California. Few details are available in his case.

Missing Persons Throughout the World
A missing person is a person who has disappeared and whose status as alive or dead cannot be confirmed as their location and condition are not known. A person may go missing through a voluntary disappearance, or else due to an accident, crime, death in a location where they cannot be found (such as at sea), or many other reasons. While criminal abductions are some of the most widely reported missing person cases, these account for only 25% of missing children in Europe. The situation, uncertainties, and lack of closure or a funeral resulting when a person goes missing may be extremely painful with long-lasting effects on family and friends.
