Description, clothing, jewerly and more : A dark blue or black windbreaker, white Nike sneakers and a medical alert necklace.
Medical conditions : Amabile is an insulin-dependent diabetic. If his condition goes untreated for very long and his blood sugar drops, he will become disoriented, fall into a coma, and eventually die.
Distinguishing characteristics, birthmarks, tattoos : Caucasian male. Brown hair, brown eyes. Amabile's nicknames are Jim and Jimmy. His left ear is pierced. He has a tiger's head tattoo on his back, a bird tattoo on one shoulder, a panther tattoo on the other shoulder, and a symbol tattoo on his left calf. Amabile's hair was in a crewcut at the time of his disappearance.





Information on the case from local sources, may or may not be correct : Amabile was last seen between after leaving his residence near the 700 block of Second Avenue in Folsom, Pennsylvania. He left his home driving his hunter-green 2002 Ford Explorer with the Pennsylvania license plate number FLA-4785. A photo of the car is posted with this case summary. Amabile was en route to pick up his two daughters from their babysitter's house on Bullens Road in nearby Woodlyn, Pennsylvania. He left home at 4:30 p.m., and at 5:13 p.m. he called the babysitter to say he was running late. His cellular phone pinged off a tower in the vicinity of Morton Avenue and MacDade Boulevard, not far from the babysitter's home. Amabile never arrived there and has never been heard from again. The call to the babysitter was the last call placed from his phone.
Amabile's car disappeared with him and has not been recovered. He grew up in Folsom and moved back to that city in 1992. He worked for United Parcel Service (UPS) on Oregon Avenue in south Philadelphia, Pennsylvania at the time of his disappearance; he had been employed there for twenty years. Amabile's family doesn't believe he left of his own accord; they describe him as a devoted father who wouldn't have abandoned his children. His wife believes he became disoriented from his diabetes and wandered off. Amabile had previously become mentally confused, but had never disappeared before. His wife stated the illness makes him appear drunk and afterwards he does not remember what he did.
Amabile's case remains unsolved. He hasn't used his credit cards or bank accounts since his disappearance, or refilled his prescriptions. He has been declared legally dead and his wife has remarried.
