Medical conditions : Delaney suffers from dementia. He had a fall on the day of his disappearance and was being evaluated for a possible stroke.
Distinguishing characteristics, birthmarks, tattoos
: Caucasian male. White hair, blue eyes. Delaney wears eyeglasses with dark-colored frames and a strap.
Information on the case from local sources, may or may not be correct : Delaney was last seen walking out through Door G of Reston Hospital in 1800 block of Town Center Parkway in Reston, Virginia at 9:00 p.m. on May 10, 2020. His stepdaughter had taken him to the hospital earlier because he had fallen at his home. He only sustained a small cut in the fall, but his stepdaughter wanted him evaluated as a precaution. Due to restrictions from the COVID-19 pandemic, she was unable to go into the hospital with him and sent him in alone, carrying a note with his medical history, Social Security number and contact information.
Delaney disappeared after leaving the hospital and has never been heard from again. His home was nearby and his stepdaughter believes he may have been trying to return there. Delaney is a lifelong local resident and enjoyed walking. His dementia had been worsening prior to his disappearance and his family planned to move him into a senior living facility. His case remains unsolved.
