Information on the case from local sources, may or may not be correct : Islam was last seen in Fort Worth, Texas on January 16, 2006. She has never been heard from again. The last person known to have seen her was Christopher Revill, her boyfriend and the father of her three-month-old son. A photo of Revill is posted with this case summary. Their relationship was abusive; a police officer testified that in 2005, while Islam was nine months pregnant with his child, Revill punched her in the stomach and head. At once point, Islam got a restraining order against him, but they continued to see each other.
On the day of her disappearance, Islam took their son to Revill's house so he could spend time with the baby. Revill's sister would later state that her brother got into an argument with Islam and punched her, and Islam said, "I think you broke my jaw."  She called her best friend and said she was at Revill's house and asked to be picked up. She has never been heard from again.
A week after Islam was last seen, Revill contacted Islam's sister and said she had left their baby with him and hadn't returned, and he couldn't take care of him. Islam's relatives came and got the baby. The initially assumed Islam was all right and had just gone off on her own, as she sometimes did after arguments with Revill, but they became increasingly concerned when she didn't come home or contact anyone. They don't think she would have abandoned her child.
Sixteen days after Islam was last seen, Revill reported her missing. He stated she came to his house at 8:00 p.m. to drop off their son, then left and got into a dark green four-door sedan. He did not know whose car it was or what the driver looked like. He said he never saw her again. After her disappearance, Islam's older sister raised her son.
In October 2016, Revill was arrested and charged with kidnapping Typhenie Johnson, who was last seen in his company in Euless, Texas on October 10, 2016. She was his ex-girlfriend and they were last seen arguing with each other. Revill's explanation for her disappearance was the same for Islam's: she got into a vehicle with someone he didn't know and rode away.
He was indicted for aggravated kidnapping with intent to terrorize; the charge was later upgraded to kidnapping with intent to kill. In August 2019, after two days' jury deliberations, Revill was convicted of Johnson's kidnapping. At his sentencing hearing, evidence about Islam's case was introduced. He was sentenced to life in prison. He will not be eligible for parole until 2046.
Islam's family believes he was involved in her disappearance, but police haven't identified him as a suspect and said there's no hard evidence to link him to her case. Her disappearance remains unsolved.

September 2021 updates and sources

A missing person is a person who has disappeared and whose status as alive or dead cannot be confirmed as their location and condition are not known. A person may go missing through a voluntary disappearance, or else due to an accident, crime, death in a location where they cannot be found (such as at sea), or many other reasons. In most parts of the world, a missing person will usually be found quickly. While criminal abductions are some of the most widely reported missing person cases, these account for only 25% of missing children in Europe. By contrast, some missing person cases remain unresolved for many years. Laws related to these cases are often complex since, in many jurisdictions, relatives and third parties may not deal with a person's assets until their death is considered proven by law and a formal death certificate issued. The situation, uncertainties, and lack of closure or a funeral resulting when a person goes missing may be extremely painful with long-lasting effects on family and friends. Several organizations seek to connect, share best practices, and disseminate information and imAge at the time of disappearance: s of missing children to improve the effectiveness of missing children investigations, including the International Commission on Missing Persons, the International Centre for Missing & Exploited Children (ICMEC), as well as national organizations, including the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children in the US, Missing People in the UK, Child Focus in Belgium, and The Smile of the Child in Greece.
