Information on the case from local sources, may or may not be correct : Stuermer was last seen in the hallway outside her apartment at Renaissance Apartments in the 700 block of west Michigan Avenue in Jackson, Michigan on December 20, 2018. She has never been heard from again. She missed several medical appointments in the months prior to her disappearance.
Stuermer regularly walked from Renaissance Apartments along Wildwood Avenue to north West Avenue, and would often stop at the Kroger and Walmart stores and at the library. She didn't own a vehicle at the time she went missing and took cabs for transportation, or asked for rides from friends.
Her loved ones believe she may have been the victim of human trafficking, or may be deceased. Her case remains unsolved.

A missing person is a person who has disappeared and whose status as alive or dead cannot be confirmed as their location and condition are not known. A person may go missing through a voluntary disappearance, or else due to an accident, crime, death in a location where they cannot be found (such as at sea), or many other reasons. In most parts of the world, a missing person will usually be found quickly. While criminal abductions are some of the most widely reported missing person cases, these account for only 2�5% of missing children in Europe.

The situation, uncertainties, and lack of closure or a funeral resulting when a person goes missing may be extremely painful with long-lasting effects on family and friends.
