Information on the case from local sources, may or may not be correct : DeLano disappeared while elk hunting alone in Humptulips, Washington on November 9, 1983. He was carrying a .270 caliber rifle at the time of his disappearance. He has never been heard from again. He left his vehicle behind.
DeLano had a felony warrant out for his arrest at the time of his disappearance. He has relatives in Canada. Authorities believe he may have left of his own accord, but few details are available in his case and it remains unsolved.
